MCCLA Gallery Volunteers

Gallery Volunteer positions not only provide an opportunity for the individual to develop a well-rounded understanding of the multifarious components of the exhibition arena, but also to foster future, sustainable relationships with the individuals who both support, and comprise, nonprofit organizations and other public programs.

The MCCLA Gallery offers three types of volunteer work:

GALLERY ATTENDANT:
You are responsible for keeping the gallery & artwork secure during gallery hours (10am-5pm). Also, the attendant is responsible for greeting visitors, signing them into guestbook, and providing them with information about the gallery and upcoming events. May require ± 7 hrs/shift.

RECEPTION ASSISTANT:
For special events, you will help in several capacities: Gallery Attendant Duties, Admission, and/or Bartending. Events are typically 5-9:30pm, so it may require ± 5 hrs/shift (For a full description, click link)

INSTALLATION/DE-INSTALLATION:
For each exhibition, the artwork will need to be installed/de-installed. Such duties might include: Painting and Spackling, Art Handling, working with tools, heavy lifting, and other respective activities involved in the installation of fine art works (e.g. paintings, sculptures, videos, mixed media, etc).
