Call for Submissions: Women On War
Solo Mujeres 21th Annual Juried Exhibition with Members of the
Northern California Women’s Caucus for Art (NCWCA)
At the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts, San Francisco, CA
February 15 – March 29, 2008

Juried by Karen Tsujimoto

Acts of war make people behave in many different ways. Some take action, some seek shelter, some speak out, some are silenced. Women on War will feature images of war, not just the Iraq War, but all wars past and present seen through women’s eyes. We seek a range of works by women that provoke strong emotions, contemplation and hopefulness. Artists should submit innovative work created within the last two years that inspires the viewer to experience war as the artist sees it. All media will be considered for jurying, including but not limited to paintings, drawings, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed media, fiber art, new media, conceptual art, video and artists’ books.
